Fly tying

I first discovered fly tying when I was working in New Zealand, after buying a book as some materials I quickly discovered this new ‘past time’ was going to be a large part of my life.

I concentrate mainly of predator and saltwater flies, but after running a salmon lodge in Norway, I became fond of tying salmon patterns too.

I use the best quality materials I can find, and use Partridge or Sprite hooks, unless a specific hook is requested.
I tie custom ordered flies, which means my flies are not next day delivery but will be worth the wait! Please take a look at my gallery for examples of some my flies, but if you have a specific fly, or colour combination not represented in the gallery please get in touch to discuss your order requirements

Fishing

Fishing has been a large part of my life since I was young, I can’t say I was the most enthusiastic student in the early days, but over time I realised how much I enjoyed being out in nature, and the excitement of catching a fish! I started by learning to fish for pike on lure, and after doing a bit of traveling in my early 20’s I was introduced to fly fishing and fly tying whilst in New Zealand .

I live in East Anglia in the UK, and here I mainly target course fish, such as pike, perch and chub on the fly, and I particularly enjoy doing this from one of my kayaks.

For two seasons, I traveled out to the north of Norway to run a salmon lodge. Here, in between the cooking, cleaning and general client care, I picked up the enjoyment of casting a double handed rod in the hope of landing a salmon.

I am also fortunate to host occasional saltwater trips, these have included Belize, and Christmas Island, taking my clients in search of some of the famed flats species.
